[The feed comes on, focused on the surface of a table. A very familiar-looking bug is crawling sluggishly across the feed-- though it's slick and coated with red blood, a black carapace with a purple spot on the abdomen can still be made out. Some of its legs have been lopped off, attributing to its sluggish crawl--and then a knife slams right ( Read more... )

You are aware that you don't have to keep on making new cuts. Just guide the bugs to the already existing ones and pop them out.

That takes time and these fuckers are quick to come back. However the fuck they manage it.

Should they keep... persisting, though, I admit a change of tactics will be entirely applicable.

Oh? And what shall this change of tactics be?

Guiding them to pre-existing cuts, as you've mentioned. It'll be easier to do so once there are multiple wounds to extract them from... that and I'm only willing to cut into myself so many times.

Maybe the idea is that you're supposed to cut them out.|

Well, then. I pass. Woop-de-fucking-doo.

Not really. You're cutting yourself up, and basically doing nothing. I killed absolutely every last one of mine yesterday, new ones today.|

Doing nothing? I'm getting them out, that's something. Doesn't matter if more come back eventually, they'll get the same treatment.

[Not because the thought of having things under his skin bothers him. Don't be ridiculous.]

Once I've got a few different cuts in different locations, it'll be easier to guide them out of pre-existing wounds. Don't want to have to chase 'em all over my body to get 'em out. That's just an absurd waste of time.

Well, that was dramatic.

Yes, removing parasites. Such a thrill.

Oh--hey! Buddy. You helped me out with that chakra stuff when I first showed up, yeah? Just want to apologize for my ungrateful attitude. Totally childish. But I was going through an obviously rough time, so, forgiven?

["Buddy?" Weeeeirdness.]

You're not the first to have a shitty first day.

[He is just such a nice guy that he lets fly with the friendly terms. Can't you just feel his niceness emanating from him? He's so great.]

Yeah, well. Thankless work is the worst kind of work, so I thought I'd rectify that.

Making just... just one cut is a little easier, isn't it?
I-I-I mean. For you. I can just... well, I can poke them out, so it might be um. A little easier f-for you.

[Speaking of poking them out---a nice, little, black needle of blood just shot one like a little astronaut out of Crona's shoulder]
O-ow---

... Thank you, Ragnarok.

Mmmm?

Thank you very much, Ragnarok...

That's what I thought you said.

Oh, uh. I... the cut thing. That was to you. I-I mean, if you... don't really care about um. Making lots of cuts... then you can i-ignore it.
S-sorry, uh... Me and... Ragnarok confuse people a lot. Did we confuse you? I-I mean, I'm not...trying to be rude or anything. We just talk. ... T-t-to each other, I mean.

You're not confusing me, I'm just not used to people talking to their imaginary friends or whatever when they address me.

You're right, these things ARE goddamn annoying. I don't really feel like going around chopping myself up to get rid of them, though, especially since it doesn't seem to be working out for anyone else.

Well, if you like 'em running free underneath your skin, you go ahead and let 'em do that.

It probably won't last too much longer anyways.
