i have every single RPC album, including the 'neath the lion's paw ep.
i have a big are we not horses poster on my wall.
i have seen them live at least 4 times. maybe more...
you missed an awesome show. they get more entertaining every time i see them. and have obviously built a loyal following in this town. they are seriously about to break big. i'm glad i picked up the new album on vinyl, because it's sure to sell out.
i'm not saying it's not an improvement. because it is, musically and conceptually. little steps, i suppose. i suppose my issue is that what i hear is what i've heard since day one out of cage: a whole shitload of promising potential talent, under-realised. with el-p's help, i think he is slowly blossoming into the tour de force that he is capable of. but i think it will require an epiphany on a grander scale to move him past the whole angry-childhood-and-daddy-issue thing, which - though it may be his true muse - gets a little tiresome after the third album.
gawd i sound really judgemental. i just know he's capable of something really good, you know? like maybe even ISWYD good! i wanna see it realised.
