perhaps john vanderslice has heard cadence weapon before, and it's an oblique reference?

if you haven't heard vanderslice before, i think you'd like him. he's a producer with his own analogue studio, and his engineer scott solter does amazing analogue remixes of his stuff.

his lyrics are great and his music is a nice mesh of live instrumentation and glitchy blip-bleep style noize and beats.
