yeah, i gave up on nanowrimo. around mid-way through the month. i got a little over 20,000 words written. oh well. it was a good first try, and that's more words than i've ever written as one body of work. so maybe it'll see the light of day one day, just for the fun of it ( Read more... )

Awesome dude...I admire your vision. I think I'm gonna make 2008 a year of musical introspection.

I'm 33 years old and I've tagged a long with so many talented musicians over the years, but I can count the number of times I've actually written a song on my own on one hand. And I would still have some free fingers when I was done.

Time to learn me thinks....

yeah, i know the feeling of "tagging" along with talented musicians. i often struggle with insecurity about my own abilities, and have always felt that most of the people i've played with are more technically accomplished musicians than i am. i guess i focus on songwriting because that is my comfort zone. the end result though is that i feel the reverse of you; i want to make 2008 a year of musical outrospection: playing live again, and of course i often yearn to play/write music with other people again...
