When Tony & I were kids, we used to eat this bubble gum that changed colour as you chewed it. I thought it was really neat and ate a lot of it till I became aware of the warning that came printed on the label: has been known to cause cancer in lab rats. Pretty sketchy candy ( Read more... )

So is sugar free Fresca bad for me? :S

Aspartame in just about any quantity tends to give me a splitting headache. I'm leery of it at best.

That's one of the known side-effects, but it isn't present in a large percentage of the population, as far I could tell.

Actually that gum contained saccharin, not aspartame. Saccharin is only 30 times sweeter than sucrose while aspartame is 300 times sweeter than sucrose.

Oh. Well, I think aspartame is more popular now. Although I've read in a couple of places that most products using a sugar substitute use a mixture of different substitutes, as opposed to all saccharin or all aspartame.

Hmm. While I would love to attend, I don't think I'll be able to - I have a large project due Dec 5, and my hardest final Dec 8, so that weekend is definitely a Waterloo weekend.
Thanks for the invitation though, and have a great time - it sounds like a lot of fun! : o)
