I saw this over here late last night (or early this morning?), and I've been reblogging it on Tumblr, FB and now LiveJournal, because I think it's insanely important that women especially get this message

This kind of thing really does irritate me. There is no cookie cutter model of what a person should look like. I think everyone should try to embrace their own form of beauty.

Granted media plays a heavy role in our modern society but we do it to ourselves as well. Proof being it goes back to practically the beginning of time in nearly every culture. Women have done things to themselves in the name of beauty that was harmful to themselves. Whether it being something small as corsets and the slowly poisoning of their bodies with makeup made of arsenic and lead the whole way to more extreme measures of feet binding. It was all done in the name of trying to achieve a higher beauty.

True corsets and waist modification is kind of a hardcore alternative modification. Frankenfurter for the win. thats why we love him.
