This kind of thing really does irritate me. There is no cookie cutter model of what a person should look like. I think everyone should try to embrace their own form of beauty.
Granted media plays a heavy role in our modern society but we do it to ourselves as well. Proof being it goes back to practically the beginning of time in nearly every culture. Women have done things to themselves in the name of beauty that was harmful to themselves. Whether it being something small as corsets and the slowly poisoning of their bodies with makeup made of arsenic and lead the whole way to more extreme measures of feet binding. It was all done in the name of trying to achieve a higher beauty.
This whole thing sort of reminds me of this photoset I seen a while ago on tumblr. I love genderfucking and androgyny but this photoset is slightly hilarious.
