Today has started out lovely! So Chris J. sent me a great article spelling out why Hayao Miyazaki is amazing which led me to searching for a trailer and images for his latest movie...

and OMG I squee-d when I watched this...like fifteen times!!

It's a trailer for his latest film "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea". I think it's gonna be great :D

I don't understand how Miyazaki can have such beautiful landscapes and such 2-dimensional, aesthetically displeasing characters. It kills a lot of it for me (although I do love the movies).

It is a bit disappointing...character developement is definitely lacking, which is probably credited to his "draw first, story after" motto, but I can't say I find them displeasing...at least aesthetically.

Oh god, this is too weird.. but since it's Miyazaki, it's going to be amazing, without a doubt.
