O, Animal House, how I love thee. X-) That really should've stuck in my head, context-wise, but somehow it just hadn't. Given they've made Animal House references (and quotes!) before, I'd like it now if they did so next time they use "legacy" in this manner. ;D
And yes--Jensen is so amazing in those little quiet moments that he takes my breath away.
Animal House is one of the most awesome movies ever, and the sad part is that the movie was so hyped for being out of control when it is like an episode of Miss Marple next to the actual Dartmouth fraternity it was based on.
I was going to say the only context I hear 'legacy' used in at colleges and universities is in fraternities/sororities. My roommate was a legacy to one sorority but didn't join even though they had to take her if she pledged.
From an outsider POV, the entire structure of education over there seems so over-institutionalised and political and just plain weird. ;) If not for movies, the rest of the world probably wouldn't know the first thing at all about it!
Honestly I doubt many people in the States who didn't attend a university or college with an active Greek system would know the term legacy either. I know I heard it referred to in Animal House like everyone else, but had to figure out the meaning via context.
Yeah...it was a less than stellar eppie. I love the Titans and Greek Gods - there could have been a lot more done with them. Maybe there will be - one can hope?

For my shallow part, I enjoyed the ample whumpage in this ep. But then again I am, shallow.
