There's a biography of Nick Cave called Bad Seed which is all kinds of wonderful anyway but the nit that stayed with me is where he says the Sisters were the worst band who ever shared a bill with the Birthday Party.

Hi there,

said that I should ask you about the current state of goth clubs in Melbourne. A friend is heading there on business next week and has Friday night free. Is there anything that he shouldn't miss?

I think CabNoc is the only thing still going at the moment (I'm fairly out of touch with ze clubbingz *grin*). They run monthly but their next one is next week - Friday 16th March, so if that's the correct Friday for your friend, I'd say that's the best bet.

Heya, just found out something else about what CabNoc's got happening this Friday. If your pal likes Bauhaus or Love & Rockets at all, he'll definitely want to be there - David J is doing a 2hr guest DJ spot!
