A lot of it is very accessible to the average home cook though you probably should stock up your pantry with some ingredients to do a good job. I'm lucky that I have a decent source nearby as I live in Canada and, unlike Americans who can shop Amazon for their supplies, Amazon.com doesn't ship food to us. Ordering goods on the net only gets you with exorbitant shipping costs. :(
