For St. Patrick's Day:

Farls or 'quarters' are a type of quick Irish soda bread cooked in a griddle or a cast iron frying pan. Simple, four ingredient recipe found everywhere on the internet.

Not a large investment in time and materials and you get bread at the end.

I never heard of skillet cooked soda bread.

There are several version of soda bread, I've learned ... treacle, corn meal and potato farls. Seem to be common Irish skillet breads.

It's a nice, simple recipe any time of year. Toasts well when split in half the next day.
