Sushi Rice Burger a la Mos Burger

NEWSFLASH: The Japanese fast food chain, Mos Burger, serves a hamburger on a rice bun.

I first heard about this dish on the Youtube channel, TabiEats, and was intrigued enough to give it a try. Especially after seeing a similar dish that they made, a grilled cheese sandwich, using a rice bun in place of sandwich bread. Searching Youtube revealed ( Read more... )

The cornstarch really firms up the bun so it doesn't fall apart while you're eating it.

You can make the rice buns for yourself and give him the regular wheat ones. No biggie. :)

I cook 1 cup of dry sushi rice at a time which gives me about 3 cups of cooked rice. Which would be enough for 4 rice patties using the recipe above (doubling means you'd add 4 tbsp of cornstarch) which would give me 2 complete buns.

PS: I'm posting a recipe for chicken karaage next. It's one of the burger fillings I really want to use next time. :)
