I am going to have to try this. I am familiar with this through a Ghibli film (The Wind Rises) I have most of the ingredients on hand, but I think I might substitute lemon for orange. We still have so many lemons on our tree.

Thanks for this and the step-by-step. I will let you know what happens.

I noted the need for more sugar than the original recipe called for in my next attempt ... but other than that it was a pretty straight-forward bake.

I made note of that. TBG said to give it a go, but next out of the chute is some 'old fashioned' bread and butter pudding.
