I tend to just buy tenders now for us now. We don't eat as much as we used to and it seems more economical. We did Chicken Tropicale last night - it must have been a chicken sort of day.
The extra prep drives up the price of the chicken but starting with thighs (bone in) or breasts (bone in) on sale makes making your own tenders affordable and the prep time is negligible.
