I love the taste of bbq'd foods but only bbq'ing a few things at a time seems wasteful to my frugal nature. So I make it worth my while with enough meat and veg for a week's worth of meals

I didn't try too hard for grill marks as I didn't want to overcook the meat. A hot grill all least gives you nice ones on one side. :)
As to the corn, I just peeled off the husk and tassels and then soaked them for 10-15 min before grilling. The recipe for Mexican market corn adds flavourings afterwards and I wanted them 'plain' for the chowder. Just some butter and salt is all I usually add though you can season them however you want.
I just wondered because I will clean the silk off, but keep the husks intact and soak mine, then add clarified butter with some salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper mixed in, to it. I them wrapped them back up and toss them husks and all on the grill. You have some nice char marks on yours. I bet they will be great in corn chowder. :D
I just found that steaming the seasoned corn in the husk wasn't a lot different than just boiling the corn and then seasoning after. Maybe there's some loss of nutrients to the water ... not sure though. The grilling though keeps in the nutrients, gives flavour and you can season afterwards.
I even have have those coloured corn holders but don't bother using them.
I thought about saving the corn husks for making tamales but then didn't. I could cut the corn kernels off the husks and use them in a tamale filling though.

Do you do anything special to your corn before grilling it?
