When I write up a grocery list, 2/3 of it is the stuff I'm buying and the other 1/3 is a list of what I'm planning to make -- otherwise, yeah, I end up with buttermilk and have no idea why lol

Gnocchi, yum. I am a sucker for that. Anywhere I see it on the menu I have to try it out. Never tried making my own, but it's still on my list of Things To Master.

I sometimes DO write a grocery list along the lines of items a and b for dish C. :) I didn't buy the buttermilk cause it was too expensive/not on sale and I'd blown the budget ... and I couldn't remember why it was on the list.

I made gnocchi ... once. It's just more convenient to buy it for the time saving and, to be honest, it wasn't that much more tasty when I made it from scratch than the package.
