Picspam: Crispy Salmon Skin and Teriyaki Salmon Belly Meat

Feb 22, 2015 17:14

I decided to cook off a few pieces of the salmon (filets and belly meat) and the skin today.

Buttery rich and soft salmon belly meat marinated in home made teriyaki and baked til tender is paired with a couple of pieces of crispy salmon skin. Serve them with some sushi rice and seasoned seaweed ... revel in the umami goodness!

You make the most interesting food. I love teriyaki and John would be over the moon with the crispy skin.

Thank you. It started out as rice with asparagus stirred into it with the piece of teriyaki salmon nicely positioned on top. Then I took the pics of the skin and belly. And broke up the salmon ... at which point I realized I hadn't taken the picture of the dinner plate yet. Oops!

The skin was nice and crispy with just a sprinkling of salt to flavour it.

You are either a fabulous cook or a great photographer (or both), but I want to rip your images off the screen and eat them right down. they look fabulous.

Have you ever done gravlax?

That is really a tasty dish Maria, I love that you paired it with asparagus. Although I adore chicken skin and pig skin, I haven't been able to get into fish skin. The home made tariyaki sounds lovely, I've not thought about making my own but it's perfect because you can customize it.

Thank you. There wasn't very much skin to start with and it was so crunchy that with a few bites, it was all gone so I wasn't overwhelmed.
