Thank you. It's not quite Red Lobster but it's the best I could do with the contents of my panty, fridge and freezer without prior planning/shopping.

That looks so good, Marie and perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner. I love the sound of the creole seasoning and yes, whipping around the pan with some cream is a great way to pick up all those extra flavours xx http://hotlyspiced.com

Shrimp cocktail is definitely one of our favourite retro appetizers and I definitely don't make it often enough. The cocktail sauce is key and my favourite would be a wasabi ketchup combo, but be careful as the wasabi really sneaks up on you! The pasta is beautiful in its simplicity, I can almost taste it as I'm reading about it. This combination is a Valentine's Day winner on all counts. I'll bookmark so I don't forget.

I have to admit that I bought a bottle of the cocktail sauce. It was just spicy enough for the shrimp.

Making the pasta dish WAS simple ... no reason to be slaving away on a special dish when you can spend the time with your special someone.

Even making the cherries jubilee crepes' a lot of fun with tossing in the ingredients and enjoying the dish after doing the prep on the components ahead of time.

We don't "practice" Valentine's Day, but I'd be very glad to have both dishes for my dinner any time. The starter looks really cute. I actually eat a lot of shrimps because here they are much cheaper than chicken breasts for example (I know it's weird... since we don't live at the seaside... but I don't complain ;-) I love shrimp! You don't have to celebrate Valentine's day to enjoy all the chocolate and candy sales going on in the weeks before. I usually pick up a BIG bag of cinnamon heart candies then.

I used to buy very cheap cooked shrimp rings and eat almost half at room temperature with a small bowl of cocktail sauce.
