I also defrost everything exactly this way! It's quick and safe. Its seems you have lots of cooking plans. Looking forward to seeing the results! Sissi (http://www.withaglass.com)

Great minds think alike. I've already done the meatballs. Time to rest and then do some dishes, take a shower and watch some tv.

I'm currently doing the exact same thawing method with a leg of lamb! I forgot to take it out of the freezer last night, and I want to make a curry this evening.

I just learned about how to bake meatballs in the oven - this was a revelation for me! Our family traditionally fries them in a pan, which is ALOT of work. I'm going to try making turkey meatballs this week using the oven-bake method.

I've done the meatballs and already had supper. Take a look at the recipe if you get a chance since I just posted it and some pictures.

They look great! So much easier than pan-frying.

Definitely easier. I would have been able to make 2 pounds worth (24 meatballs) in that pan at one time.

Looks yummy. We went Italian at our house this weekend, too. I made a big lasagna on Friday night, so it served as dinner Saturday too, and there's still more left!

Thank you. I keep meaning to make a lasagna but then never got around to it. I could even use home made lasagna sheets. :)
