An "affogato" is a coffee based vanilla ice cream or gelato dessert. I used espresso, or rather espresso made with instant espresso powder, for a fast dessert that wasn't overly sweet.

I had two tonight. OK, the second one was cause the glass I used to put the first one in made for a crappy picture but still, I had TWO in half an hour, so I'm just a bit wired.

When I used to own an espresso machine, we used to eat this often after meal (and then sometimes we couldn't fall asleep. haha). It's so easy and yummy - it was my favorite quick dessert. I now wish to have a better espresso machine to make this again. :)

When I worked briefly in my SIL's chocolate and gift store, she had an espresso machine and I had some good cups of coffee but I haven't had any in years. The powdered stuff isn't as good but it's ok and it IS strong.
