I've heard of that gadget but haven't bought one as I was concerned about how often I would use it. I certainly can appreciate the results of those those who do have one. I haven't tried this but it does look very delicious xx http://hotlyspiced.com

If I was making nokedli on a regular basis and for a large family, I could see investing in a single purpose gadget but not in the circumstances. And, as I can get decent results with the grater, there's no reason to now.

It was a fun experiment in any case, and after adding the product from the 3 batches, there were enough nokedli for two servings. :) So no waste either.

I LOVE your experiment with the kitchen tools you already have rather than buying a new tool. I've never had nokedli/spaetzle before, but thanks to blogging, I've seen and heard of it. Would love to taste it one day!

Nokedli or spaetzle taste just like regular egg noodles. I wanted to try to make them so I could repeat the process when I make a batch of chicken or pork paprikash ... which is what they're really best served with. I could have just added them to a pot of soup too.

I've always used the potato ricer but now I'm dying to try the grater. :)

Size wise, I think the grater is closest to giving nokedli similar to those produced by a spatzle maker. I'd be interested in your view on the results.

Thank you. I just had the last of the leftover nokedli in place of noodles in some cream of tomato soup. Tasty.

Good decision. They look perfect this way too. Speatzle are also popular in Switzerland, but I have never made them. Sissi (http://www.withaglass.com)
