It wasn't as dark as many baked Alaskas I've seen but I got some melting from the vanilla ice cream so I pulled it out after 10 minutes. I didn't freeze the meringued Alaska for 30 minutes so that was probably the reason. An hour of freezing before baking wouldn't hurt either but making the mini baked Alaska was a last minute decision and it was late so I was anxious to cut it open while there was still some natural light to take the pictures.

I'm not saying it was the most well made or attractive baked Alaska ever but it was pretty darned good for a first attempt. :)
