When I was young I instantly said, "no thanks" to sushi thinking it was a mouthful of very fishy tasting raw fish. One day I was with a friend who ordered sushi at a restaurant and my life changed. :)

I've been more adventurous in my food tasting in the last 25 yrs of my life than in the first 25. Sushi is one of my happiest discoveries. :)

You keep on surprising me with your creativity and width of culinaryt interests! I must say your inari zushi are very inventive and look much much better than the traditional ones which are always sweet and more boring. I love your idea and will keep it in mind next time I go to my Japanese shop. Sissi (http://www.withaglass.com)

Thank you. I hope you give them a try and I'm sure you'll end up with some interesting fillings as well.

Yay you posted it! I was hoping that you will. Looks so good, and light. It's almost lunch time now and I have small pack of inari. I'm going to make this for my lunch - all for myself as kids are in school!!!! Gotta boil somen first! Thanks Maria!

After taking the picture I realized how sloppy it was ... I'm embarrassed to have you visit and see it compared to your own photography but I'm glad you did as well. :) Thanks again for all the great inspirational recipes.

Love noodles, love your dressing for the salad too! I need to re-stock the noodles in the cupboard so a timely reminder, thank you! Claire

I have so many different kinds of noodles that I'm a bit overwhelmed and yet I'm tempted to buy more whenever I slow down in my jog down the noodle aisle. Who needs green vermicelli or packages of ramen I ask myself when I 'find' them in my grocery bag? :)

I can envisage this not ending well for me... I tend to be a bit ham-fisted when it comes to delicate things in the kitchen and I would totally break through the pockets with my sausage-fingers! If not that then I also have a seriously problem judging "how much is too much". When I roll tacos they explode everywhere because I try to cram in way too much stuff - they look good though... if I could just get someone else to fill them for me... hmmmmm... where's my wife? :p

She can do the noodle version and you can do the rice ball one. :) You just have to fight it out for who gets the most inari pockets from one can or buy 2 cans and let your guests decide which one they like best.
