Bucket List Challenge - Whole Chicken Ballotine

I'm not sure if boning an entire chicken, stuffing it with a combination of cooked rice, sauteed mushrooms and spinach, tying it up with kitchen twine and then baking it is on my bucket list of things I want to cook ... but it sure should be. And, a recent post by Sawsan featuring this dish challenged me to try it myself

It looks very well done - I can understand the reasoning as to why someone would want to prepare such a dish, but I have to be honest - it seems a bit like difficulty for difficulty's sake. I'd rather smash out some chicken breasts and then wrap them round something if I wanted a wrap, but good for you on trying, and succeeding! :)

I agree with your comment, Charles. I don't know whether I'd ever do it again. I do like the challenge though and now that I have done it once, successfully, I doubt that I'd do it again. Consider it one for my bucket list.

Still, it was a lovely presentation and ultimately, a lot of fun when you have some free time and want to play in the kitchen. :)
