[Of course he sounds preoccupied! He's so used to talking to himself, or to another physically present person, that he's nearly forgotten how to use this thing. The mutterings are accompanied by fumblings and tinkles and rustles and dings and bonks.]You know, it's escaped my mind often enough until Cissie brought it up earlier that Earth is very ( Read more... )

There is a celebration of an old divinity, a mother goddess, but it is not my celebration.

I understand winter festivals and know they will be different. I look forward to these celebrations. I have also seen the snow on the top deck. It is amazing. May I request something warm to wear?

[Coyo pouts a little - though it's very, very fake, before she tucks the sprig into her new scarf.]

I am behaving, Doctor. [She fiddles with the plant for a moment.] And I do not need this to extract a kiss. I kiss who I like. I need no excuses.

[Coyoxauhqui takes a few more steps towards him, but at the last moment her attention switches from him to the discs on the floor.] What are those?

[Now that sets off his propriety alarm, and he holds up his hand and opens his mouth to speak... and is thankfully saved by the baubles on the floor. THANKS, BAUBLES. THAUBLES. He stoops to pick up a vaguely aquamarine disc and holds it out to her.]

These? They're isentrope discs, a decoration for the Otherstide. Would you like some?

[She is a divinity who enjoys her baubles, so she nods and takes the disc from him, holding it up in front of her eyes to admire the odd color.]

It looks like jade.

[Well, the Doctor's in luck, because now Coyolxauhqui's so thoroughly distracted by the not-jade disc that she forgets about wreaking havoc on the Barge.

Temporarily.]

I suppose some could be fashioned from jade, if Gallifrey were more open to the idea of intergalactic trade. Sadly, most of the physical substances the Universe offers tend to hold poorly against such byzantine designs.

[Oops. Rambling about space again, sorry. But at least he's doing things while talking this time, and has gathered an ornate tin full of the same type of discs in nearly unimaginable colours, as well as a box filled with what look to be a great mess of small holographic projectors and oddly shaped crystals. He takes handfuls of each of these and begins to busy himself around the room again, working that Gallifreyan magictechnology by hanging them round walls and corners... with nothing to hold them there.]

Are you feeling better, by the way? I could find my kettle and make some tea, if you need to warm up a bit more.

[...Yes, maybe he feels guilty that he never keeps his room warm.]

[More words she doesn't understand. Coyolxauhqui sighs and sits down on an unoccupied - possibly temporarily at the rate the Doctor is decorating - space on the floor and turns the disc over and over again in her hands. She's fascinated by it.

She burrows further into the jacket and nods.]

I do feel better. Tea is not necessary.

[She is still terribly cold, but armed with the mistletoe she now has a better way of warming herself up.]

[Pish tosh. Tea is ALWAYS necessary. But he's too busy making his room look horrifyingly festive to pitch into a debate about it at the moment.]

Would you like to help, then?

Decorate? [But that would mean standing, and she's perfectly comfortable down on the floor all bundled up. She turns the disc over again in her hands, but eventually hauls herself back to her feet.]

I would rather go play in the snow.
