Lemmings and Other Stuff

It's been an up and down week. Letting go of unresolved misunderstandings, which is my least favorite thing in the whole wide world; bad (for the misunderstanding), good (for letting it go even without resolution). Going to the spa for book club, eating Korean food (Mmmmmm), and baking in the Sand Room; good. Lunching with evilandi for the first time in ( Read more... )

Wolfling and I didn't find any really good food in California Adventure.

As far activities: the 3-D Muppet Show is a must for those of us who loved the old Muppet Show. It's just like being in that theater, complete with Statler and Waldorf in the balcony.

Soaring Over California is magnificent, and well worth the line, even if it might not sound like much. We did it twice, I would have been happy to do it again.

Wolfling adored the Grizzly River Rapids ride (3x worth). But you will get wet, so do it mid-day in the sunshine, and/or buy a rain slicker from the gift shop (they have them behind the counter).

Both KT and I sniffed when we looked at the description for Soaring over California but we'll definitely take the ride on your recommendation.

I'm not up for the Grizzly River Rapids, but I know the Dude will be ... so wanna bet I go?

Muppets, YES!

Thanks for the info!!

It's been two decades since I was at Disneyland, whatever they call it these days. My recollection of eating somewhere outside of the park involved having to walk for a mile or two around the property to find anything. That may have changed since I was there last, but really I remember there being one main entrance with a gigantic parking lot and nothing within easy walking distance.

I have no recollection of what restaurants were like inside or outside the place. I think I was Hal's age, maybe younger, when I was there. =(

That's how it was when P. and I were last there ... 17 years ago. It's totally changed, from what I can see on the web.

Should be interesting!

I just spent 2 days at Disneyland and DCA. I actually signed up for a 90 day subscription to RideMax. (I can forward you link to program and login info in email if you'd like.) You can check it out at ridemax.com. It really did help us avoid long lines and excessive walking ( ... )

I'd love a link to RideMax. What a phenomenal idea! And yep, we do have Park Hopper tickets with Fast Pass.

Thanks for the advice on the water bottles. I was pondering whether or not we should pack some along, and sounds like we should.

I'll keep an eye out for the cafe! That's great to know.

And please, just ramble on. :)

What used to be the parking lot of Disneyland is now the site of Disneyland California Adventure. I'm not sure where you're staying, but if you drive, there's a new parking structure. The tram then takes you to Downtown Disney, which is similar to Universal's City Walk. It's a collection of stores and restaurants, and even includes a movie theater. My parents were dead after our intense day of theme-parking on Saturday (9am-12am) and didn't want to go on adrenaline-producing rides, so they spent half of Sunday just shopping and wandering around Downtown Disney ( ... )
