Merlin's exercises appear ridiculous on the surface and you captured Arthur's discomfort beautifully. He's so vulnerable and open in Merlin's rooms, I can see how easily the walls between them fell. Tristan was obviously trying to show Arthur in a bad light by pushing for that speech, but instead it steeled Arthur's resolve to do well and his dogged practice and time spent with Merlin worked on many levels - his speech improved, his confidence was bolstered and he and Merlin fell in love.

Merlin needing to step back even though he cares as deeply as Arthur is devastating. Arthur was just beginning to conquer his stammer and Merlin was integral in making that happen. He was also on the brink of being happy. I hope this doesn't play into Tristan's devious hands.
