I knew when they had 5 veteran actors present the award that Heath was going to win. I'm happy for his family and he really deserved it. BUT I also feel he should have won for Brokeback. It seemed like the Academy was trying to put him on the back burner for a while 2 years ago. Like he had plenty of years ahead of him to win an Oscar. Unfortunately, he didn't have much time left and while he DID deserve the Oscar for best supporting actor for The Joker, I also feel the academy owed him big time for awarding him for Brokeback back in 2006.
They fucked Heath over on purpose 'cos he played a gay character and he was young. What he did for the acting industry by playing that role was open the doors for Sean Penn to win for Best Actor for portraying openly gay Harvey Milk in 'Milk'. That's something.
I totally agree. I am all confused now since I thought that Brokeback got an oscar.. or some kind of nomination. God now I gotta look at the cover again to know what I am talking about lol But yes, he should have won for Brokeback as well.
Yeah. The irony. I think it's all redicularse in any case. Life's not fair as it seems. And neither is the industry. Especially that one. Urgh.

I tell you, I am starting to believe that the Academy is evil.
