Mainly intended for Margot, Armand and/or Tsuzuki, but if anyone wishes to tag in I'll gladly make the necessary adjustments. There will be an open post - of course - once Favrielle is ( Read more... )

Tsuzuki is on his way to shower after a morning spent drilling a hole in the outside wall of the Mansion to splice a water-line into a pre-existing pipe, and thus he's covered in sawdust when he peeks into Favrielle's temporary workshop. "Whoa, looks like you've been busy settling in there," he says, not daring to come in just yet.

"Urggghhh."

The terrible sound comes from behind a panel Favrielle is trying to transform in a screen to hide changing customers from indiscreet eyes. Apparently one of the sides just fell the thousandth time.

"Come in, pray! I'm trying hard to make this thing work!"

"Sure thing, just let me get some more sawdust off myself," he says with a chuckle as he brushes himself off before he steps into the room. He stablizes the screen. "Need some help with the hinges?" he asks.

"That would be very kind indeed. You see, I intended it to have three parts so that it covers as much body surface as possible." She's talking about something like those, ahem, Japanese folding screens?

"Let me get a screwdriver then, I won't be a minute," he says, leaning the panel carefully against a wall and scurrying to his room for a screwdriver, returning in a moment to help with the assembly. "So, this your first day of business, or are you still getting ready for that?" he asks.

She watches him working while chewing on a nail, and her gaze wanders around every now and then to see what else should and could she do in the time she still has till people would start arriving. "It's complicated", she replies. "You see, this isn't enough room for what I have in mind. I'd like to have something wider, and on the ground, not at the third floor -- it's more difficult for people to reach me here."

"Yeah, I was thinking it was a bit out of the way for you to open shop up here, but I think I have an idea about how to get you a room on the ground floor," he says, tightening the center pin on another hinge. "I'll let you know when and if it works." He has a theory on the nature of the place and he hasn't had a better oppurtunity to test it out till now.

Arms folded against her chest, she perks her ears when she hears about his potential idea. "It would be marvelous!" she exclaims. "Of course, you're getting bonus speed for your suit, mind you," she adds teasingly.

"Oh, anything to help a friend, but I'd appreciate that," he says, starting on the hinges of another panel. "I know a guy who might be able to help, but I can't say any more," he adds, with a wink, already thinking about Alphonse and his alchemy: he can't help wondering if that would be a quick way to add on a room to the first floor, or if he should try his other idea, based on his theory about the nature of the Mansion...

"--alright," she laughs, "I don't mind the mystery, as long as the issue will be solved in the end!" Leaning against the wall, she looks him up and down. "Now hurry up with that, we'll need to start working quickly if you want everything to be in order."

"One more screw," he says, tightening it, then pockets the screwdriver and stands. "It should be steady now," he says, carefully spreading the panels.

Favrielle watches the final product with a critical eye, and she's content with the result, which makes her smile. "It's perfect," she aknowledges, but wouldn't show too much enthusiasm, it's not like her at all. "Now we can move on to our business, if you don't mind."

"Sure thing," he says with a smile. Then he glances down at himself. "I, ah, hope I'm not too covered in sawdust: I was running a water line for that pond I've been working on."

"You're taking that off anyway," she notices dryly.

"Oh, right, how silly of me," he says, then glances to the screen that he just set up. "Shall I...?" he asks, feeling completely awkward now, but not completely.

"If you must," she laughs. "I'll see you anyway, in the end -- oh, and don't lose all the clothes, by all means. I just need to be able to wrap all sorts of fabrics around you and see how they look."
