Halloween Party at MCA: The Roof

The roof of the building, which can be accessed from the top floor or via the balcony of #8, has been decorated in a disco theme. There's a dance floor, complete with a mirrored disco ball and colored lights. Music is playing from a Bose sound system (cradled in the arms of a skeletal figure). These lyrics cut a little too close to home, and he ached just a little watching her. It was better when there had been most of a country between them and he had other things to think about.

Parker opened her eyes again, and started to strut across the dance floor-- hunh. There was somebody in the shadows again. She couldn't see who it was across the length of the roof, though.

Jarod saw Parker's movement change, and sank back deeper into the shadows, not ready for her to see him yet. He still wasn't sure why he'd come back.

Whoever it was, was hiding from her. Which was either weird, flattering, or both. Parker put some extra pizzazz into the next part.

As he watched Parker's dancing get more seductive, Jarod took an involuntary step towards her, but stopped himself before he was fully visible and pulled himself back.

Damn. Almost had him. Parker spun away as the chorus kicked in again, hoping distance would do what invitation hadn't.

The song went into the instrumental section, and Parker gave up - for now - on getting the guy following her to step out and join her. She spun and raised her arms over her head to the beat, and just gave herself up to the music instead.
