His hotel room has been turned into Ground Zero; people coming in and out, papers strewn everywhere, computers and various electronic devices on nearly every available space. He had been down at the site all day, trying to figure out just exactly what was going on and what they were dealing with. The second he had stepped foot inside the old building the spirit he’d made contact with initially had appeared, chattering at an insane pace...and of course speaking in German. Taiki patiently recorded every word to the best of his ability; Japanese is his first language, English his second...So his account was questionable at best. But it was, for obvious reasons, a job only he could do. The new German translator was due in any minute...

“You look like shit.” Murasawa sighed, flopping down in a chair beside him. Rubbing the back of his knotted neck he glanced sideways at his boss, not bothering to respond. The man pinned a critical eye on him and Taiki could see every thought that ran through his aura. No, indeed he had not slept -again- last night...No, he didn’t eat nor did he want anything...Yes, he’d showered... One more deep sigh and Murasawa leaned over the table, pulling the book Taiki had been looking at in front of him from across the table. “What is this?” He asked, skeptical as he perused the worn pages. Taiki didn’t say anything; the answer was obvious. “Do you really think it will work?” He just shrugged. Probably not...But it was the only thing he could do. He wasn’t a mutant; he didn’t have superpowers...

Two hour later and he was still discussing the schematics for the next day with Murasawa-san. The elderly boss was seated at the table, one hand propping up his generous chin and watching as Taiki traced the blueprints of the house with one finger, explaining his plans while stooped over the back of the man’s chair. Then the small psychic faltered, his eyebrows coming together....He quickly composed himself and picked up on his tangent. Until something twinges at the edge of his senses again. This time he stopped completely and stood up straighter, staring right through the far wall with a confused look in his eyes.

That...wasn’t right.

Without a word he left Murasawa-san at the table, making his way out the door and down the hall. He hesitated before turning the corner, finally just peeking his head around the bend. But there he was...The blond stepped off the elevator when the door chimed open, studying a small slip of paper. Shocked, Taiki just stood there, wide eyes staring at the preoccupied man. Surely he was hallucinating…

But it was no dream...no hallucination. Shuichi glanced up and the brief look of surprise was quickly replaced by a bright grin. He wasn’t sure if the man’s presence was the best thing to ever happen...or the worst. But everything went blank when two large arms caught him in a bone crushing embrace. His hands slowly came up and gripped the back of Shuichi’s shirt and they just stood there in the middle of the hall...
