Has been in the planning stages for about .... 6 years.
I actually have the time, solid idea, materials and the where-with-all to actually get it done. All I needed to do was call a couple of friends to complete it and Taa -Daaa... Grown Up bedroom. I have had this king sized bed ever since I moved into this house. And it never has had a headboard. The room has had several incarnations...

As you can see the dogs the yellow light and the king size bed is really the only things that have been consistant through out the years.
After about 2 days of preparation - hole filling, staining, poly coating, painting and then another 5 hours of friends helping with the heavy lifting and then 5 with another 5 hours of finish work... My room now looks like this:
Is that Awesome Or What???
The Cost of this project was only $54 plus tax. For the Nightstand cubes. The rest was all stuff that was around the house being stored and not used. The wood came from the sitting room closet project; The 2x4's were in the garage, the rope lights were in the sitting room and the poly, stain, paint and wood filler were all here. Not bad. 2 major projects around the house (headboard and minifridge) that together cost less than $60. And they have both enhanced things around here tremendously.
I cleaned out a lot of the furniture, mainly the biggest piece was removed... the Big Corner unit. Becky, Kim and I carried it downstairs to the media room for the next phase of rearranging. I cleaned, straightened and touched up the rest of the stuff this morning. And now this room is open house ready. Not that it is happening soon, but it will happen someday. So Now 2 rooms are there. The guest room and the master bedroom.
Only Ninety eleven rooms to go.
