Glitch was fidgety. Of course he was fidgety, he was meeting people and would be taking them to the O.Z. through a portal, and maybe he should be telling them some of this.
"Uhm, well, Sunday is when we'll be leaving." Oh, yes, this is where he'd be reaching towards his desk for some notes. "There will be a portal to take us to the O.Z., because really, I don't think travel storms would be the best way to travel for a group," or anyone, but that part went unspoken. "And the trip shouldn't last very long, really."
He looked around and smiled. "Do you have any questions?"

Karal made a small, polite noise, intended for getting attention. "I do have one, or two, rather. The first is: are there any special protocols we need to know to meet your Queen? And the second," he glanced down at himself - specifically, at his robes - briefly, "is my being a priest going to cause us trouble?"
Re: We <3 OCD dinner partiesa_no_brainerFebruary 23 2008, 01:22:27 UTC
"No special protocol. We'll be meeting her, and the rest of the royal family, soon after we arrive. She's not usually much for excessive formalities, but there shouldn't be a problem."
A beat, because, wasn't he a bit young to be a priest?
"And being a priest isn't a a cause for any trouble."

If he breathed a sigh of relief, it was a very quiet one. Karal really hadn't wanted to hide what he was, and formal occasions, to him, meant formal robes. "That's good to know," he said with a smile. "Especially the last."

"I had a few important questions, too," Andrew chimed in. "Is it going to be warm there? Like shorts weather? Or should I be packing more sweaters and long pants? Oh, and do I need sunscreen? Bug spray? Toilet paper? Because I was reading how some places in like Europe don't really use traditional toilet paper..."
He had a lot more questions, but these were the ones he figured he really needed to know.

"The Glikkus?" he interrupted, incredulous. "What in Oz were they thinking to build the Palace up there? It's up in the Northernmost reaches, in the mountains and past the canals!"
He shook his head.
"Why not leave it in the Emerald City? What's been done with the Wizard's Palace?"

Ino glanced at him; wondering. She tilted her head slightly to the side though, figuring if he didn't want to talk about it then whatever, or something, and asked, "What about weapons? Are we allowed to bring them with us?"
Re: We <3 OCD dinner partiesflowering_mindFebruary 23 2008, 02:40:37 UTC
She shrugged. Okay then. "I guess so. Sure. Never met royalty before," Ino said, "and Hokage-sama would never try to make us be unarmed in his presence. It kinda defeats the whole ninja-thing."

He blinked at the other questions. Slowly.
"Europe?"

No army in its right mind would march through all that ice willingly. Having had half a brain at the time was his excuse for doing it.
"The Wizard's Palace was converted into a museum, with some living spaces above it."

The People's Palace indeed! Glinda's question had certainly been answered.
"And Southstairs?"

"It was blocked off, initially. Then, again, after Azkadellia's possession."
Oh, not a pleasant subject, that.

"I suppose, but, it's generally frowned on to bring weapons when you go to see royalty. If you did, you'd have to leave them with the palace guards."
