"Go on across, Gordon," Barney says, stepping aside so Gordon can go now that he's done. "She's waiting for you."

There's a beat, and Barney gives a knowing wink.

"You lucky dog you."

Gordon is many things, but first and foremost he is a nerd, and nerds are not subtle in their reactions when it comes to the people they love. He smiles- one Alyx would probably appreciate, if she were there to see- and ducks his head. "I know I am," he says. "Thanks again, Barney."

And then he heads off across the bridge as fast as he can safely go.

"See ya at the Station!" Barney calls across the divide, watching them for a little bit before cranking the bridge back up and propping a rock in it.

He's always been a sentimental man, and to see two of the people in his life that he loves the most, happy together? It's proof that maybe there is hope for a better world after all.

Barney shakes his head with a grin on his face, and then turns back to the task at hand. "Good luck, you two. You'll need it."
