They've escaped the Overwatch's trap, but Gordon and Alyx aren't away from Combine influence completely. Two dropships passed overhead a few minutes ago, followed by a hunter-chopper which, thank God, didn't seem to notice the car. All three were headed in the same general direction--toward White Froest.
And just as they emerge from a long tunnel, a noise echoes across the valley below... a roar, or an explosion, or both.
