[Elle is finally feeling well enough to do video again. People haven't been the greatest at reading her texts (what dumbasses!) and now that there's a reward for chopping off her fingers (supposedly), she's had to find an alternate means of communication. [She looks up at him and grins, giving him a small wave and shoving a book toward him. Sign language. After several weeks of trying or thinking about it, she's finally grabbed the book from the rec room.]

easyer 2 stay awake w others tho, rite?

Possibly.

[He takes the book and blinks at it before smiling.]

And this is an excellent idea!

[She smiles and makes the sign for "Really?" He seems... really pleased. And that's good. That is very, very good.]

[Taking a seat beside Elle, Mohinder flips to the front of the book and glances at the chapter.]

I use to be a teacher. Not quite a language teacher, but a teacher just the same. We could learn this together.

[She's not sure what the sign is for that, and if he thinks this is such a good idea and is doing such a good job of doing what she wants, she'll keep trying. So to that end, she leaves the paper and crayons alone and claps her hands, beaming, and leans over to give him a quick kiss on the cheek.]

[Yes, there he is, being quite the little puppy again. He's gotten use to the zapping. He's gotten use to her demands. And he smiles when she kisses he cheek.]

The alphabet. Ah. Staple of all languages.

[rebelle_elle]

[Okay. Time to really impress.]

[She points to the alphabet, then touches her forehead with her fingers like Clark taught her, then points at Mohinder, then draws a question mark in the air. Not giving him time to say if he knows the alphabet or not, she rushes forward to point to the alphabet, touch her forehead again, then point at herself. To prove she knows it, she goes through all the letters and numbers one through ten.]

[Finally, she can talk again. Sort of.]

[This is Mohinder more that suitably impressed. He can't grin wide enough!]

I'll need to catch up!

[She beams widely and scoots closer, giving him a tight hug.]

[It takes him about an hour to memorize the alphabet and he practices it with Elle, grinning all the while. They needed this.]

[Elle is clearly thrilled, beaming the entire time and occasionally hugging or kissing him. She shows him how to say "want" (that one she'd had to learn how to say on her own), and "food," then pulls away after another kiss and looks at him hopefully.]

[She wants food, Mohinder. Come on and be a good boy.]

[He stills needs to look up a lot of the gestures. It's not like spoken word. Things aren't in alphabetical order. But 'eat' is at least easy to recognize. When he gets it, he nods.]

Of course. I'll be right back.

[Did she just give his ass a little pat as he got up and then pretend she hadn't? Nooooooooooo. Not at alllll. Just like he hasn't been sleeping with Sylar while she's been ill or dead.]

[Which will come up later, when she has a way to properly express her rage.]

[Mohinder returns a few minutes later with water and food bars. He nods towards the bed and sets out food for them both with a smile.]

You can even talk and eat at the same time this way!

[She moves closer again, wrapping her arms around his neck and snuggling against his chest. Her eyes drift shut, and within seconds, the sprinkler overhead is going off again, drenching her room with ice water. She shoves herself away from Mohinder and makes frenzied gestures for him to get out and get someplace dry.]
