[Harry's not looking quite as friendly as he normally does in his broadcasts. The wizard is fully buttoned up in his armored coat, and wearing heavy leather gloves in his hand. There's a knife handle poking out of one pocket, and he's got his staff. He appears to be standing in the common room of Suite five, which he's rearranged a bit. The couch ( Read more... )

Suite 32 is clear so far. Just to be safe, we're going to be locking up in room A for the week. If you have anyone who needs a safe place to stay and you don't have room, 32B will be empty and clear too and we could probably take one or two more in 32A.

Alright. So far, plenty of space. Most of us are willing to give up our suite space, and we've got room for at least ten more if they brought a little extra food.

You don't want to relocate, just for safety in numbers? I got a lot of kids and people with no experience here, not a lot of able bodied fighters. I'm doing the best I can with what I've got, but if it comes down to it, I'm afraid it might be me trying to use magic that won't kill people with the collateral, and a puppy.

Good.

We might think about it. I'd have to see how the others feel about it. There's five of us. So far it seems like the infected are just sticking to attacking people out roaming in the halls right now. If people would just stay inside like they're being told, it might be okay.

They are, because there's people in the hallways, and the hallways still smell like people.

After a few days of the only people left avoiding the halls, then we'll have to worry, and I know for a fact that there are some scarily powerful zombies out there. They can't work magic, or anything like that, but they retain all the strength and speed they had naturally...

I know. But if they can't use any of their powers and it's just the speed and strength that we have to worry about, at least we have a pretty good chance of fending them off.

Out of curiosity, what do your wards do when someone touches them?

Speed, strength, and any powers they use unconsciously. I think you're alright, they don't seem to be building up much in terms of numbers.

Touches? nothing. My wards are reactionary, the force applied to the door is applied back to the person striking it, or trying to break it down. It takes a lot to wear them down, and flailing against them doesn't tend to end well for monsters.

I'm not worried about me. I know I'll be fine. It's everyone else I'm worried about.

That's handy. So if one of them runs full speed at the ward, they'll get hit at the same speed and thrown backwards?
