[The feed at first reveals a young elven woman looking simply distraught.]

My... My bow... [But that distraught expression quickly turns to rage] Where. Is. My. BOW?!

I swear, in Grovy and Yugo are playing with it again, I'll-- I'll!

[She sighs, pinching her brow to regain her composure.] Eugh, I don't even want to think about what I'll do to ( Read more... )

[So many new people this round, geez]

The people in charge of this place take our weapons when they bring us here. So your bow is probably wherever mine is.

Wait. You know Amalia? [Actually, judging by the way she's talking, she's probably from the same world as Amalia. Interesting]

Well then I'm glad it's useful.

Don't feel bad if you do once or twice. This is a lot to take in and since you're from the same place as Amalia, you're really not used to all the sterile white. The other places change every time. Last time it was this city in the woods with mazes, fairies and these little creatures called goblins. Apparently the time before that it was a big city. You can never really tell what it's gonna be like.

[a chuckle] Not at all. The city in the woods sounds much more appealing than anything. It's the kind of place that Amalia and I grew up in.

Is that a fairly rare occurrence, though?

That's what Amalia said too. She probably would have liked it a lot if it wasn't for the goblins and the biting fairies.

Fairly, yeah. In the two months I've been here, we've only been on one trip. It apparently only happens every other month or so. It's a good chance to stock up on real food though. All we have here is these disgusting food bars that pretty much taste like cardboard. Sadly, I'm just about out of real food. I guess that's to be expected since I've been feeding myself, Amalia and another friend since we came back.

Well, if it happens again, you'll have another set of hands to help you get real food.

[But returning to an earlier subject...] You said you were an archer, though. What sort of bow do you use?

[Another smile] Thank you. I definitely appreciate it. The more food we can gather, the better.

I use a longbow. It's made of a strengthened material that makes it harder to break. I inherited it from someone older. I guess you could say he was...sort of my mentor. [Sort of, but not really. Still, the bow is special to her. It is the first Hawkeye's bow, after all] Not exactly happy about someone else having their hands on it, you know?

Ugh, I understand completely. Just the thought of it makes me want to punch someone.

[She sighs, but a thought comes to mind] I'm going to take a guess and say it wouldn't, but is there a place to get fresh wood? I'm not much of a craftsman, so it wouldn't be pretty or enchanted, but I could make a basic bow. Not having it with me is making me anxious.

I know, I know. Same here. On the bright side, you'll get it back when we go on one of those trips I mentioned.

Hmm, well, there's the biodome. But the person in charge of it probably wouldn't be too happy with you cutting down a tree. And there's the problem of how you'd even do that in the first place. Apparently there's someone who makes weapons here too. If you have something to trade him, usually food, he'll make you a weapon.

Ah, is that so? Those trips sound like a blessing in disguise.

[Thoughtfully,] I see. I'll have to speak with both of them eventually, but I guess that's nothing to worry about for now.

They kind of are, yeah. We get our weapons back and it's a chance to gather supplies. Oh [A little laugh] I also promised Amalia we'd go shopping on the next trip.

The one in charge of the biodome is named Kurama. And the weapons maker is named Eddie, I think. Just for future reference.

[Uh oh. Amalia shopping? At least someone will actually want to go.] Is that so? I warn you, Amalia's shopping habits may keep you occupied for the better part of the day. And her tastes are not always... practical.

Thank you very much. I'll keep an eye out for both of them on this, er... thing.

I don't mind. I could use a painless way to kill a day. And I used to go shopping all the time with my sister. She is the master of impracticality. Besides, I did promise and I try not to go back on my promises to friends.

Oh, I should probably warn you about something else. The communicator has a habit of turning on all by itself at the worst possible times. It recorded someone singing in the shower once. Just a heads up.

That's good to hear. [she chuckles] That's what Amalia is used to anyways. I usually go shopping with her, but I'm generally not interested in things like bags or clothes.

[frown] Eugh, really? What a pain... I wish I knew more about it, but it's like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm glad I got it to work at all.

Well, having me around means you get a break from that.

Yeah, it really is. There's been more than one embarrassing moment posted for everyone to see. [Oh no inhibitions week, how she hates you] I could explain it to you more sometime if you wanted. Or you could ask Amalia. She seems to have figured it out pretty well by now.

Then I'll have to thank you for that in advance.

[She smiles] And thank you for the offer. Hopefully I'll find wherever Amalia is hiding and we can have a long talk about all of this.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure it'll be fun.

I hope you do. You guys have a lot of catching up to do, I'm sure.
