Peter found himself pretty exhausted after his one-sided fight with the future version of Sylar, but he forced himself to go to the abandoned store in town and pick up a few things for dinner, a small gesture to thank Elle for being so hospitable. Even though he could only find non-perishables, he'd make do. He wasn't too bad of a cook, not like Nathan who would have found a way to blow up the kitchen just boiling water for pasta.
All in all, not a bad day. He'd gotten out some of his anger at his brother's killer, but he was convinced it would most likely be a brief catharsis, at most. Peter had learned from a young age to be grateful for the little things.
Sylar's parting gift was another of those little things; Peter had received two very helpful special abilities out of the situation.
Now he needed to shower and change his clothes before Elle caught him all covered in blood and sweat and dirt and wondered what the hell he'd been up to.
Upon looking into the mirror to shave, he noticed his collar was now black. That was weird, but it might explain why his control over his powers was improving. Even so, he could feel the threat of a minor power overload itching in his nerves. A little dose of Elle's electricity seemed to help reset the problem temporarily, and he hoped she'd show up soon.
