I actually tried to read the first book of that series awhile back and I couldn't get past the first chapter or whatever bc it was a giant first person pov info dump lmao. My eyes glazed over.

Dunno if you care for anime/manga, but the Noragami series is a pretty great "fallen god" story. I keep hoping they'll make a third anime series but not so far.

I honestly haven't read manga/manhua in years. I don't know what it is, but I find myself less and less able to focus on the art so I find myself missing whole chunks of story because I wasn't paying enough attention to what's going on in the panels :p I was just looking for decent fantasy and somehow N.K. Jemisin was highly rated by the internet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
