Well, tofuseishin brought out a very good point (refer to http://users.livejournal.com/_yagenal/7068.html?thread=37276#t37276), so here are the possible answers to "Where is the toilet?" hahahahaha.

YOU: Torei wa doko desu ka?

RESPONSE (hopefully by a very kawaii Japanese boy!):
"Hidari" = Left
"Migi" = Right
"Massugu" = Straight ahead
"Kai jou" = Upstairs

Yeah it is, in correct Japanese. But I guess the modern Japanese person just uses the katakana version whenever he/she likes? (:

I guess! but if I use the correct Japanese version, then at least I will give out waves of N00B TOURIST!ness and they won't feel compelled to speak very quickly to me in Japanese I won't understand. XD Strategy!
