I feel like I've been waiting forever to see a Jo-meets-Sam-after-Dean-dies story. This is spectacular. I've always loved Jo and this has reminded me just how great a character she could have been if written well, and not in the romantic capacity either, but as her own person, out facing the supernatural world for the first time. And Sam at this point in his life, broken - it makes for a wonderful tale and you're writing doesn't disappoint. Can't wait for more!

I completely agree about Jo. I think the writers and creators couldn't make sense of the character after the negative fan response. It makes you wonder what they really had planned for her, and what direction they wanted to take the character within the realm of the seasons-long story. Jo would have made such a fantastic ally, romantic interest or not, not to mention provide an interesting take on the hunting community in general and its reaction to Lilith's rise, the Apocalypse, etc). At least Jo lives on in fic.
