Nothing moved here. No muffled laughter, hell no muffled screams either. Just the dust drifting up, catching in the light and falling back down to earth. Dust scattered by light footsteps as Leela walked from from room to room, floor to floor of the once grand old hotel. Jack was leaning against the wall, the feline Mary twining around his calves and maowing softly for attention which she wasn't getting because her master was busy staring at what he feared might be a ghost.

Softly he answered "I've been wondering the same thing..."

The finger stopped its journey across the glass, and for a moment her breath did too. A long exhale sent dust on the windowsill scattering into the light, swirling around her as she turned to face him.

"Jack? Is that, no. You're real. Really here, I mean. I thought you were in New York!" Her eyes caught sight of the feline at his feet. "Hello Mary, still taking care of him, I see. Good girl." She wiped her hands on her skirt, took a few steps towards his taller, lean figure. "Hello Jack, it's been forever. I've, I've missed you."

In response to all of her questions, he simply steps forward and offers her the space within his arms "I came looking because I missed you."

Slowly she smiles, the happiness shining in her eyes and curving up her lips. "I've missed you too, my friend. It feels like forever!" She steps into his arms, her hands folding around him for a warm hug.
