Now I kind of want to make a gradient-fish out of sculpey, but polyclay-a-day would take too much time.

On the other hand forcing myself to take some time to work on something creative every day is probably a good idea in several ways.

At some point in high school I decided that having multiple colors of clay was a waste, and I just made everything out of white sculpey and painted it with acrylics. However, the only color of sculpey I have right now is glow-in-the-dark, so I guess I'd have to make a lanternfish. :P

I am currently trying to do a digital version of the fish I saw, and there are definitely halftone dots involved.

After unpacking my latest laptop and going "holy crap the keyboard glows!" there wasn't anything I could name it besides Lophiiform.

I like having the sculpey around that I don't have to paint, but I do have way more plain than anything else and can definitely see what you mean.

Halftoning in clay would be kind of awesome (though perhaps tedious and annoying), I should remember that....

You could probably do something with millefiori to speed up the process.
