I'm in pre-production on a music video, featuring zombies and ninjas and suchlike. Been working on some test make-ups, which I'm reasonably pleased with, considering I'm restricted by ratings and suchlike, and can't really go for gold with the bones showing through rotting flesh etc.

The alien skin (it's PURPLE, damnit!) is pretty much the industry standard technique in NZ for creatures of all types and creeds. Make it grey and brown, it's an Orc. Blue; an alien. Pink and you've got a Boggle...

I'm not sure what the purple variety is, except that I have a new Violet ink that I thought was pretty!

I'm very pleased with the hand too. The face make-up is a little too subtle, and at a stretch could also be a person with nasty sunburn and hayfever! The hand though is exactly the level of rotteness that I'm aiming for in the shoot. Now just have to get 9 other make-up artists to reproduce it, and I'm away laughing.
