I guess there's a Doctor Who convention or something today.

lmao @ cam recording, OLDSCHOOL. I remember watching one of these for EOT. That was more exciting. They're releasing the shiny version on Monday but clearly underestimated the dedication of fans.

Thoughts on the trailer so spoilers sort of? )

life the universe and everything, this day is bananas, doctor who

Lol a friend of mine in Cardiff mentioned that this morning, saying she was going to stay faaar away from Cardiff Bay! And ugh, that sounds lame, though not unexpected from Moffat...:/ (Can't watch the trailer from my phone).

So like a Canadian Comic Con? Cool! Lol Patrick Stewart, gotta love that...:p. That's too bad about your friend being a Moffat fan, but still, though having rl friends in fandom is always great...my BFF often tells me about people at her uni she would see cosplaying, one of them doing a really convincing Ten...

It's from the Whithouse episode so I don't know if it was Moffat or Whithouse but it made me roll my eyes. ATTN WRITERS EVERYWHERE characters can be funny and in character at the same time, you do not need to make them behave inexplicably stupidly to make a joke. Lawd. lol I guess this is a pet peeve of mine.

Haha yes! It's the first one my city's held though there are others in Toronto and ...Montreal? or Vancouver? or something. It is nice to have a friend who watches Doctor Who but weird to have one who watches Doctor Who with Wrong Opinions lololol. She texted me after TWORS to be like "IT WAS SO ROMANTIC" and I was like ????????????????????????????

I am curious to see her cosplay though, I didn't know she did. She asked if I wanted to join but the only outfit I could make easily would be River, and I am concerned I would feel like quite a fraud lolol.

She meant to do that though!

And I do not blame her.

Yeah. My excitement level for s7 is still barely registering. I think I'm going to have to watch the first episode before I start giving any fucks about it.

Okay, right after Amy shoots the gun for the first time, did you hear what the guy said about...being American or Americans or something? I JUST REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW MOFFAT'S STEREOTYPING US AGAIN. only we're allowed to stereotype ourselves omg. But I kind of have a thing for westerns so I'm...tentatively crossing my fingers? And of course already facepalming for the reasons you stated.

Oh, Moffat you really don't...ever change, do you? :|

He says "Anyone who's not American, put down the gun!" (or something thereabouts I paraphrased rather than listening again). So yes lol it's another AMERICANS AND GUNS joke. Omg Toby Whithouse I expect better.

In general the abundance of companions holding guns in that trailer seemed odd to me. BUT WHATEVER clearly I need to accept that the show's way forward is "guns are sexy and powerful and the Doctor thinks so too".

Thanks for linking to the trailer! I agree, the visuals are beautiful but the gags are terrible.
I feel a bit wistful about those Wild West scenes. They were filmed in my country but a million miles from where I live and there's no Confidential anymore to celebrate the fact that they passed through here. I don't even like Westerns. I guess we'll always have 'Barcelona'.

Yeah, i usually find Whithouse very funny so I hope the finished product is... better.

That's a shame. It is too bad about DWC -- I never really watched it and wasn't crushed at its cancellation but the closer we get to more Doctor Who without Confidential the more it sort of sinks in as really strange to me. HOW WILL I COME TO LOVE JENNA COLEMAN IF I DON'T SEE HER GOOFING OFF BACK STAGE ALL THE TIME? lol

Oh, gosh, you're right. I hadn't even thought about that. And I would like to hear more from her; she seemed articulate and funny in the interview with Lizo Mzimba. I used to be obsessed with the behind-the-scenes stuff but even I started giving Confidential a pass in the last couple of series, so I wasn't all that put out either. And I didn't miss it when The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe aired. But I reckon there will be moments, such as this one, where I will.
