This is fantastic - just the right mixture of everything.

You've nailed so many nuances with Donna and contrasted her sort of drifting to Adelaide's driven nature quite effectively.

Simply wonderful stuff.

I thought it was sort of an interesting contrast, because one of the comments I see the most about Adelaide is that she reminds people of Donna, and while I definitely see where they're coming from, comparing someone like Donna in Runaway Bride to Adelaide in Waters of Mars has a pretty big disparity. And they're alive at the same time! I couldn't resist.

I loved this, so many sad little moments for Donna and little Adelaide, full of enthusiasm. Brilliant :)

Poor Donna, I didn't exactly set out to make this story so sad for her, but it sort of wound up going that way no matter what I wrote.

I AM FULL OF ... LACHRYMOSE.

Donna totally would wake up while WoM was going on. I can just see her, feeling the need to yell at someone. And then she'll remember everything and find the Doctor and maybe Rose and go on timey wimey adventures forever and ever!! What season 5? Never gonna happen.

I love Adelaide here. Even at ten years old, she's a total badass.

Hahaha yeah Donna totally woke up confusd because she wanted to cry and yell at someone at the same time. And somewhere in Pete's World, Cloen is having confusing dreams about Queen Elizabeth I.

Adelaide was kind of a challenge to write, because a nine-year-old orphan is not the same as CAPTAIN BADASS, but I figured she at least would be quite driven and clever, if rather quiet. Hopefully she seemed plausible enough.

That was simply awesome. I've been looking for a good Adalaide fic (are there any Adalaide comms out there? I couldn't find one, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough), and this fits the bill. And Donna, too! All in character. I loved there interactions, the hints of Donna's memory coming through, and Adalaide's determination. It was wonderful.

I haven't done much fic-scouring since WoM, so I'm not sure what's out there in terms of Adelaide fic. There totally should be though! She's awesome!
