Hello again all!
I just received some *great* inspiration from one of you (just not putting the name in case she wants to remain anonymous, please feel free to identify yourself!) to do a third piece focused on what our abusers said to us later to try to justify their actions/defend themselves.

“Now you said you decked him and he fell over the railing and into the water? …The railing is awfully high for him to have fallen the way you said he did… And you say no one was in the area? …No one? …Maybe I got the area wrong, you said this was the boardwalk?”

Me: (Taut) Fine.
Him: I just wanted to know if you were still mad at me.
Me: Yes. Yes I am.
Him: Oh. (Pause) Why?
Me: Because you (can't say it) because I feel like you betrayed my trust.
Him: What do you mean?
Me: I thought I made myself clear, I didn't want to...
Him: What?
Me: (Shouting) Sex! I didn't want to have sex with you!
Him: Oh, well, uh, I never heard you say, I mean, not during the actual act...Listen, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you or make you uncomfortable in any way. I thought we had something special. I thought we were cool. I never would have wanted to jeopardize it.
Me: I know you didn't mean to hurt me (God why can't I hate him?).
Him: Can I come in?
Me: No. Not now. (Not ever.)
Him: When? (Hopeful) Tomorrow?
Me: No.
