[IC] [Backdated to a day or two after Clark and the Gargamels left]

[So we have the Mess Hall, and we have a ton of tubs of ice-cream, everything from chocolate-mint to caramel ripple to berry sorbet to oreo chunk. This isn't just ice-cream though. This is healing ice-cream.]

The maple-walnut's not bad, but it's no triple chocolate fudge. Hey, is that one cappuccino flavoured?

Which one, I'm trying thirty-one flavors right now!

I mean, what I mean to say is if this Cherry Garcia needed someone to talk about how they don't think they can taste like the original I bet a Sherbert Swirl'd be willing to listen and sorta understand a little. Except for the part with the cherries.

*pokes at his scoop distractedly*

The Sherbert Swirl's really off-base.

It's not off-base! It's just, uh, dealing from a lighter dairy mix.

Well, the Garcia's problems have nothing to do with the original. I mean, sure, to some people chocolate fudge ripple will never win out over the original chocolate fudge, but that just means more ripple for the rest of us.

But it's still important for the ripple to ge to know the original chocolate fudge since, y'know, they're related and stuck on the same shelf and hafta get along. And so maybe the sherbert doesn't have the same kinda worry that the ripple does about not being made up entirely of chocolate or ending up Neopolitan, since it's more fruity anyway, but it knows about how sherbert used to be this old French dish thing that was warmer and it maybe gets when somebody says "that's not sherberty enough since it's not super old and makes you think of guys in powdered wigs." And it knows that's fine since it's rainbow sherbert and people can like both but it can also maybe miss the other sherbert if somebody buys it, not 'cause they think it tastes better but they're still sherberts and that counts for something...

...the sherbert's going to miss the original chocolate cherry garcia too, huh.

Of course the sherbert will! Just 'cause they might think they go better with the ripple since, hey, it's ripple and it's got a better flavor to blend with rainbow sherbert like, I dunno, an extra color or something. But that doesn't mean it's bad of the ripple to miss the original or making it feel like less of an ice cream since...since it's okay for ice cream to melt when really sad stuff happens!

The chocolate fudge ripple is not melting okay? Well ... not much. And I gave it to Buffy anyway.

... I guess whatever happens, ice-creams gonna melt or get eaten. I mean, it's ice-cream. It's what it does. So knowing what happened to the original cherry chocolate garcia isn't going to change stuff for the new original cherry chocolate garcia especially since the new original seems like it's got entirely different promotional material. You get me?

I think Buffy's good with dealing with melty ice cream anyway...

Uh-huh, except, um, where's the sherbert come in?

Quite possibly.

The sherbert's cool. In both senses of the word.

And the chocolate ripple doesn't mind if the sherbert hangs around and sometimes gets gloopy over it just 'cause it wants to make sure it's all...ripply?

I guess not. 'Cause the Ripple knows it'd want to do the same thing if anything happened to make the Sherbert melt.

Like a French vanilla sherbert hybrid coming in and saying rainbow's not traditional enough to count?

Like the French Vanilla hybrid can talk.

Same goes for anyone who doesn't get that the ripple's a great flavor on its own and not a snack for when you can't get cherry garcia, it's great on its own and you don't hafta compare 'em. Unless it's like saying they're both ice cream but then that's sort of a given it doesn't make their tastes better or worse!
