It's from Decca, the enormous book of her letters. I've been dipping in and out of it quite a lot recently. Oh ditto, aren't they just such a fascinating family? There's no one else quite like them (daft as that sounds) in our history I don't think.
Oh I will see if the library has that as it looks interesting. It's really amazing how none of them were really properly educated but they still managed to become successful, Nancy and Decca especially. xxx
Absolutely. I think Nancy was definitely a force to be reckoned with. There's another book of their letters which is more recent I think, I've yet to have a look at that one. The only problem with the Decca book is you just get her correspondence but it's utterly fascinating. Have you read Hons and Rebels, her autobiography? I've not yet but I think I must get hold of it. x
